  If you are considering eating here, I suggest you look at any of the other restaurants on the Riverwalk. There are many other excellent choices. The only reason I gave it a 1 is there is no lower rating. I have been coming to the Riverwalk for twenty five years, and this restaurant is a total disappointment. I have eaten at nearly every restaurant on the Riverwalk. This was my first and last time at La Paloma. The menu looked enticing so we stopped there. I have traveled France and enjoyed the slow service, but at La Paloma the service can only generously described as glacial. The waiter seemed nice, but was clearly overwhelmed. Our drinks took a while to get to use (3 lemonades and two beers, how little no can they possibly take?). We ordered our food and waited, and waited, and waited. Three of the meals involved "chicken breasts". What arrived were chicken breasts that had been sliced thin so they could get two or three meals out of one breast. The chicken was dry and clearly had been cooked earlier before being taken out of a warming oven and slapped on the plate. When the food finally arrived it was cold, and I waited an additional twenty minutes for my plate to arrive. There was no help in the area that could even be flagged down to inquire why only four of five meals were served. When my meal did arrive, it was cold, and the "chicken breast" was simply smothered in a stock mole sauce ladled out of a pot. Clearly this place in either owned by a cheapskate, or managed by someone who doesn't have a clue about hospitality. The emphasis seems to be on cutting every corner possible. The only reason this place survives is because of the high traffic in the area so they can lure in the unsuspecting.

  I was provided excellent customer service specifically by a young lady named Thalia. She made sure my first experience here was perfect and that I left with nothing to complain about, awesome work ethic with a beautiful bright smile. Definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone new to the city. Foods very enjoyable and worth the check.
