Reviews about Lily's Philippine Restaurant
- 5 / 5By Ricardo OrtegaThis was my last stop to eat in San Antonio before my family and I headed back to Houston on vacation. Our first restaurant in S.A. on the riverwalk was a huge disappointment but our Hyatt hotel breakfast bar redeemed it and the other place we tried were also pretty good and was rated highly (Japanese). In Houston we tried other top rated restuarants: Korean, Southern, BBQ, and some others. Out of all the places we ate between Houston and San Antonio this has to be the best place we ate beating out what we thought was the best of what we've tried: Korean. Its a simple mom & pop appearing restaurant that puts out great cooked to order dishes. It feels and looks more like a bakery shop then a modern day restaurant Im used to but that wont stop us from returning to this place again and again on our trips back to San Antonio.April 28, 2017
- 4 / 5By RetiredArmy RANGERWhenever my wife, born and raised in the Philippines, wants to try a new Philippine restaurant how can I say no, I can't and don't. :) We arrived about 11:30 and the place was a little deciding at first, but when the waitress and my wife started talking the native language I knew we were in for a treat! That said, I really enjoyed their meats and Jasmin rice, especially the chicken adobo. Lily's did not disappoint in this meal or the Beef mechado I ordered. The crispy Pata was also good and the wife cabbage bowl, forgot the name, was also tasty. We were however disappointed in the Lumpia served. They are the frozen store bought kind, they were prepared well, just not authentic in our opinion. So I would skip that and just go buy from the frozen section of the grocery store. We also sampled some of the bakery goods, see photo, from Use bread to Flan she said it was all very good and would come back just for the bakery items. I would recommend if your first time trying the Philippine foods as you will experience there tastes and flavor profiles. I am positive we will be returning soon. Thanks for reading and this review helps, give. thumbs up!
