  Their big item (and I do mean big) is the 3.1 pound cinnamon bun. However, there is a fairly good menu here and all portions are large. The food is tasty. Lulu's is open 24/7. I have never been there during the night but it is very popular during the day - expect a wait. They have an app that will contact you when your table is ready and shows you where you stand in line (without actually standing in line.)

  My husband & I made a stop at Lulu's during our first trip to San Antonio just over 2 years ago. After waiting about an hour to be seated (at the counter, not a table) and just shy of 11am we took a minute to look over the menu & order coffee. By the time we were circled back around to for our order it was after 11am and we were told "no breakfast"...much to my dismay as I love nothing more on a Sunday morning than a sloppy diner breakfast! Weird...never been to a 24/7 diner that stops serving breakfast at 11am...especially on Sunday. Nonetheless, we ordered lunch (so-so), purchased a gigantic, stale, signature iced cinnamon roll to take home to our kiddos and we were on our merry way.
  
  Fast forward...St. Patty's Day 2017...a much talked about, anticipated return to Lulu's...this time with 2 of our 3 kiddos. We arrived at just about 9:30am. Put our name on the "wait list", accepted our 45-60 minute wait time and gave a cell # to receive a text informing us when our table was ready. With this lengthy wait time and a noon check-out from our hotel, we took our chances running back to the hotel (7 minute drive) to pack up & check out. No problem...we were heading out of the hotel room at 9:50am when the text alerted us that our table was ready, 20 minutes----not even close to the 45-60 minutes we had been promised. And that quick...surrendered to the next party in line as we knew our table would be given away by the time we could get back there. We decided to go back anyway (I mean I waited another 2 years for Lulu's breakfast!) only to be told when we pulled up to the crowd awaiting their text alert, "we're closed!" WHAT?!! Yes, that's right...the hostess was told to lock the door and tell everyone waiting that they were closed!!! No explanation. No apology. No emergency. No patrons running from the building screaming, "fire!!!" Just "lock the door and send them away!" Must be nice for business to be so successful that you can turn people away at the drop of...an egg? Maybe the head cook slipped & fell. Either way...my next trip to San Antonio will not center my departing breakfast meal on Lulu's.
