  Have been at this location multiple times and use the subway app. Don't waste your time at this location in the Boardwalk shopping center. Consistently have only 1 employee working and that employee is in the middle of an order with customers at the counter. The employee always apologizes that they haven't been able to get to the online order BECAUSE THEY ARE THE ONLY ONE WORKING. Most recent experience was a 25 minute wait, only to be told that the store was out of Italian bread because of an earlier large order. The employee was so busy that the bread wasn't made yet. POOR MANAGEMENT AND OWNERSHIP. Save yourself time and frustration, there is a new Subway in the Walmart down the street or better yet go to the location on Main Street in Boerne. The staff in Boerne are always friendly and helpful and the restaurant typically has more than one staff member working. It's worth the extra drive down the highway to receive the food that you order.

  This is going to sound a little crazy, but I think that I'm uniquely qualified to review a Subway, due to the fact that I eat Subway somewhere around 100 times per year (even on very rare occasions outside the U.S.). There are a bunch of things that make a Subway "acceptable", and even more things that can make a Subway "sub-par", but some very specific things make a Subway "excellent"... For example, when they take the time to layer the meats in your BLT appropriately when you order double meat (Salami, pepperoni, ham, cheese, repeat; Not double salami, double pep, double ham, cheese), or make sure they place your double-cheese with half between the meat and half on-top so that it sticks together when toasted... That makes for a 5-star Subway. This particular location pays attention to every single detail. I've gotten to know the manager, Joe, and it makes me happy to see him take so much pride in the quality of his store's work. I've seen him toss bread that doesn't meet his standards in terms of freshness, and I've seen him correct trainees and have them redo portions of a sandwich to get it perfect. These are the details that turn occasional customers into regulars, and keep regulars like myself coming back again and again. I'm pretty familiar with how vegetables age due to my job, and it's very apparent that everything they keep on their topping bar is as fresh as it can possibly be. Passing customers may not always realize it, but we're pretty lucky to have such a well-run store in our area.
